Sometimes I Lie | Alice Feeney

2nd book by this author. I can say that I like how she develops the stories and the unlikely characters. For me, this story has many similarities with Rock Paper Scissors. There were parts I guessed but still I enjoyed this psychological thriller. Amber guessed she is in a hospital, she can hear everything but cannot move, doesn‘t remember what happened and the man talking to her, is her husband, who she thinks is responsible for what happened.

This is a King Arthur retelling. I enjoying it very much. It is a YA maybe with silly parts but they were funny and it is full of action. There is representation to LGBTIQ+ The problem, well, there is a sequel. As a YA fantasy novel 3.8⭐️

I‘m very late to #wrapup #AwesomeApril for no reason other than I kept forgetting! Anyway, I wanted to finish Ariadne and maybe whatever else came off the hold list or caught my fancy, as well as make progress on the other books I have going.

I finished Ariadne and thought it was fine. Certain parts I liked a lot, but overall it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Circe is better! Just sayin‘

I also finished a mystery and read some other chapters.

squirrelbrain Circe was definitely better! 4w

This book is pure genius!

This book is all 4 Avengers movies written as Shakespearen plays. It includes stage directions, a list of characters, and even full color illustrations (loved seeing the Avengers dressed Shakespearean style). All the iconic lines and scenes are translated perfectly.

I‘m a little behind on posting. Didn‘t have a chance to read over the weekend, but I did get ten hours of reading done during last week. Finished most of Zeroville and read a few chapters of The Bird Eater.

When Manhattanite Sarah Rock meets a mysterious and handsome stranger in the park, she is drawn to him. Sarah wants to get away from her daily routine, her cheating husband and his crazy mistress, her frequent sessions with her heartless therapist, and her moody children. But nothing is as it seems.

EadieB Her life begins to unravel when a woman from the park goes missing and Sarah becomes the prime suspect in the woman's disappearance. Her lover is nowhere to be found, her husband is suspicious of her, and her therapist is talking to the police. 1mo
EadieB A thriller that questions what is real, with its shocking twists, secrets, and lies. The plot is a fast-page turner that had me trying to figure out what was going on. If you like riveting psychological thrillers, then you will like this one. I would like to thank NetGalley and Beaufort Books for a copy for an honest review. 1mo

In the 1990's, Ireland seemed a safe place for women. It was easy to ignore non-political murders and sexual violence. Claire McGowan delivers a candid investigation into the culture of secrecy, victim-blaming and shame. McGowan reveals an Ireland of outdated social and sexual mores, perceived propriety and misguided politics.

EadieB Was an unknown serial killer at large or was there something even more insidious at work? Eight women went missing from an area roughly 80 miles around Dublin. This is a fascinating read and well-researched by McGowan. I enjoyed this book as it was very passionate to McGowan to write. I would like to thank NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK Little A for a copy for an honest review. 1mo

I forgot to post my final stats for the #AwesomeApril #Readathon. I was so enthralled with continuing the BDB series I just didn‘t think about it. Whoops. It was a great jumpstart to this year‘s reading. I‘ve certainly gotten closer to where I normally am at this time of the year. @Andrew65 @TheBookHippie thanks for posting about this readathon. I really needed it.

I did not do a great job updating for #AwesomeApril but I did read everyday. I was 4 pages short of my goal but I just could not keep my eyes open a moment longer. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I finished 4 books (all but one previously started) and had fun.

Thank you @Andrew65 for hosting. See you next month.

My completed stats for the #AwesomeApril #Readathon . I read three books and made good headway on three more. I hated the Waco book, but all of the others more than made up for it. I had a great time! Thank you for hosting @Andrew65 ! 🥰
