I started a Broadway puzzle while I finished THE SPIRIT COLLECTION OF THORNE HALL. The book has a satisfying creepiness to it and I enjoyed it a lot, but Thomas is one of those writers who uses, for example, “she‘d not” instead of “she hadn‘t,” and I find that contraction sounds unnatural with most North American accents, including hers. It might‘ve made sense if only time-locked Elegy did it, but everyone does. 🤷♀️ #audiopuzzling

Elegy lives in the past. Thorne Hall was built 126 years ago and has stayed like this because the Thorne's need to keep their collection of ghosts happy. It's an extremely sheltered life under her father's thumb with only a few servants coming in during daylight hours and the spirits roaming the house.
A burst pipe brings a handsome handy-man, Atticus, into Elegy's life and for the first time she envisions ⬇️
