My Brother Michael
My Brother Michael | Mary Stewart
3 posts | 12 read | 5 to read
Camilla Haven is on holiday alone, and wishes for some excitement. No sooner has she written to her friend Elizabeth in England, than her life suddenly begins to take off and she finds herself in the midst of an adventure. A moment's impulse leads Camilla to volunteer to drive a hire car to Delphi. An impulse she quickly comes to regret. For not only are the dusty roads through the olive-clad hills full of pitfalls both literal and metaphorical, but they also lead her into a nightmare of danger and intrigue.

My favorite Mary Stewart, and I've read them all. This cover is way too frivolous for the story, though.

I read this book many years ago. I really liked it and most of the books by this author.

These are the books on my Manila bookshelf that have #dressesoncovers, for day 5 of #readjanuary. All three (two historicals and one contemporary) have lovely covers and I enjoyed reading them. I've read all of Eva Ibbotson's romantic novels but I need to read more of Mary Stewart and Liane Moriarty titles.

danistclair @Chachic Eva Ibbotson was my introduction to romance and Company of Swans and the Morning Gift are still amongst my all time faves! 8y
EloisaJames Mary Stewart is brilliant--I love all her novels! 8y
Chachic @danistclair My favorites of hers are A Countess Below Stairs and The Reluctant Heiress. I loved the fairy tale feel of both. 8y

Chachic @EloisaJames Oh which ones are your favorites? My first was Nine Coaches Waiting and it's still the one I like the most. Have you tried Eva Ibbotson's books?😊 8y
danistclair @Chachic I love the Reluctant Heiress too! Who am I kidding, I love them all massively, my favourites are basically the ones I've re-read most recently 8y
EloisaJames @Chachic I'm one of the few who just never took to Eva A. I think I've read Nine Coaches 14000 times--in fact, I might have to get it from the bookshelf tonight! 8y
Chachic @danistclair Me too! I think all of them are lovely. I would love fo read more books similar to hers. 8y
Chachic @EloisaJames Ah, sorry to hear that! But yes, definitely go for Nine Coaches if you're in the mood for it. I have a few of her books in Singapore that I haven't read yet. 8y
