I first came across the 80/20 principle in university when studying industrial maintenance. It turns out that 80% of breakdowns come from 20% of equipment. I could later verify this in my graduate program when I joined an oil and gas company. I never thought this principle could be applied for almost everything in life. Richard Koch did a great job of expanding on Pareto's principle to a broader application. Highly recommend this great book.
