“I am a man with a dream, Ingis - the dream of Ulric. These men with men were once Doublehair. Now they are mine. The burly one by the far tent is a Spear. Now he is mine. These forty represent three tribes. United, the world is ours. I am an enemy to no one. Not yet.“
Scaler looked up as he appeared. He wanted to rush forward and embrace him, but resisted the urge. Tenaka would never recognise him. The Nadir prince had changed little, he thought, save for the few grey hairs glinting in the sunlight. The violet eyes were still piercing, the stance still unconsciously arrogant.

Despite the books relatively small page count, it packs a punch. Gemmell has an amazing ability to pull the reader into the story and feel the emotions of the characters. This series is quickly becoming one of my top choices.
