Pickpick

Thanks to Lexy Night for picking me to have an ARC! I loved To No End so much, and I‘ve been waiting impatiently for this. I needed more Cress and Varro!

So here are my thoughts. I love the journey we‘re going on with the characters. I appreciate that we get to see their character evolutions more fleshed out, instead of skipping or montage scenes. In the first book, I enjoyed Cress‘s last month before leaving; here I had fun…

Lauranahe with the remaining Imperi members training at Basdie.

We finally get into Artume! I love some political intrigue, and I‘m a sucker for a map, so seeing more places besides Basdie was fun.

I always appreciate an author who isn‘t afraid to kill characters off. While it‘s difficult, it adds tension and ups the stakes. Like, when you read the Wheel of Time, it‘s a great story. But nobody ever dies.

Lauranahe You KNOW none of the main characters will die; they‘re protected by plot armor. So knowing anyone could die at any moment heightens the emotions. Does that make sense? Also, Lexy. LEXY. REALLY?!??

Only complaint is the word “vast” is used many, many times. And could‘ve used some more spice.

Ok, I‘m ready for the next one now!! NOW. PLEASE.
