2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
"What is the sinister conspiracy that is code-named CanSell, and how does it threaten Canada? The truth is on a micro-cassette that Tom Austen must somehow find before a crucial vote by Canadians on the future of their country. While on a school trip to Gjoa Haven in the high Arctic, tom unexpectedly discovers the micro-cassette might be closer than he thought. Between dog sled races, drum dances and journeys across the tundra, Tom searches for the cassette and learns a valuable lesson from the Inuit about the futility of violence."--Back cover.

For those of us doing the #ReadCanada challenge... this children's (probably middle-grade) mystery book is set in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut ;) Even though it was written before Nunavut was made a territory, I would totally count it for that territory :)

MsMelissa I may have to try this since my Nunavut book was a dud for me 😕 4y
rabbitprincess @Book_Fiend_Melissa I‘ll probably read this or Paul Okalik‘s memoir 4y

Quick and light, great kids book. The whole series is geared to teaching children more about Canada, while keeping them engaged in an adventure. I'll definitely be reading it to my kids one day :)
