Benang: From the Heart | Kim Scott
3 posts | 2 read | 4 to read
Oceanic in its rhythms and understanding, brilliant in its use of language and image, moving in its largeness of spirit, compelling in its narrative scope and style, this intriguing journey is a celebration and lamentof beginning and return, of obliteration and recovery, of silencing, and of powerful utterance. Both tentative and daring, it speaks to the present and a possible future through stories, dreams, rhythms, songs, images and documents mobilized from the incompletely acknowledged and still dynamic past.

Day One of the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival done and dusted. Saw Kim Scott, Gillian Triggs and Jane Caro and more speak today. Most of these names will only be known to Australians. #UWRF18 📚❤️🙏

MrsMalaprop @CarolynM She‘s great. She pretty much said ‘watch this space‘. She‘s been contacted by so many people who want to help her run. 6y

Pickpick

A luminous and beautiful tale about terrible times. This Miles Franklin Award winning novel is a perfect example of writing beautifully about ugly things. A dense read but well worth the effort.
