"...these twenty-two Trump cards have a certain relationship to the mysterious and venerable system of mystical lore known as the Kabbalah, and that the cards derive much of their symbolic meaning and evocative qualities from their position within the grand Kabbalistic design known as the Tree of Life"(1).

Included a CD of guided meditation for each of the 22 Trump's.

"The secret societies were to transmit in their symbolism the scientific side of primitive initiation, the religious sects were to develop the philosophical and metaphysical aspects of the doctrine. Every priest of an ancient Creed was one of the initiates, that is to say, he knew perfectly well that only one religion existed, and that the Cultus merely served to translate this religion to the different nations"(6).

"I've coined the term 'tarot interactions' to talk about different ways in which we can relate to, and use, tarot cards. Tarot isn't static; it interacts with it's environment in a wide variety of ways"(3).

Wanted to take quick break from #BooksOnTarot for a spooky read and/or listen.

Love this book! But if you want a spooky listen then the audio book is the best choice. Even though it's abridged it has excellent production values for a chilling experience. The book is read by a British woman who was perfectly cast!

I wouldn't have anyone under 17-18 listen though.

"By taking account of the color of the sky on a given card you obtain a simple, but important clue for it's interpretation"(11).

Megara My favorite deck is the #MarigoldTarot and its colors are always black, white, and gold. Beautiful. By the way, your current reading list looks interesting! 6y
bookcollecter I haven't heard of that particular deck. Tell me more about it. Thanks for checking out my profile and reading list 😁 6y

"'Rota Taro Orar Tora Autor' (The Wheel if Tarot speaks the law of Hathor).

"Deciding to work with Tarot is like embarking on a long journey, an inward journey...the word 'tarot' has been associated with the Egyptian 'royal road of life"; and the anagram 'rota' which is Latin for wheel, suggests the means of progressing along the road"(27).

This one is also co-authored by #MaryKGreer

"Learning the court cards with this book is as much about creative play and searching out personal reactions to the cards as it is about studying established systems. The purpose of this book is to make the court cards come alive, and to give you a deep familiarity with the cards and the human possibilities they represent"(4).

I've got a plastic cover on this one I use it so much nearly daily for the last three years.

"Tarot for Your Self is a tool for achieving self-knowledge. It is designed to actually teach Tarot, rather than merely explain it, and to help you apply Tarot to your real-life situations as a practical resource"(19).
