Pickpick

This book was spot on! I love Sonnenblick‘s writing: serious topics with just the right dose of humor.

I related so well to Claire — although my mom and I have 30 years on Claire and her dad. The struggle my mom faced after her stroke was very similar. And then there‘s Mrs. Selinski — yep, I made a connection there as well 😢

#WishIReadThisSooner but I think it was the perfect time for me 🙂

TheBookAddict I may need to read this. I‘ll have to check the library for it. Thanks for sharing. 6y

So, looking through the posts, I found mine from when I bought this book — two years ago! If that doesn‘t say something about my TBR I don‘t know what will!

On the #Caudill2019 list, I‘m finally reading a book I already know I will love. Everything by Sinnenblick is amazing.

BookInMyHands Ooh, I sat next to him at a library conference in April and he was funny! He told me that when he tours he always gets a drink that is the local specialty for the region. 6y

I started this book on July 10th. The next day I found out we would be having a conversation on 7/12 with hospice care for my dad 😢 By 3:00 am July 14 my dad passed peacefully.

I‘m liking this #Caudill2019 title very much but I just can‘t seem to read more than a chapter at a time. So it‘s time to move on. I‘m going to try a title by one on my dad‘s favorite MG/YA authors.

Slow going, but I just got to the disappearance of the little boy. Let‘s see if things pick up.

Lily and Dunkin | Donna Gephart

Pickpick

So glad Lily and Dunkin came into my life! Lily, transgender, trying to be her true self going into 8th grade; Dunkin, trying to find his place in a new town, living with bipolar disorder.

The author gets middle school — Lily and Dunkin are struggling while assuming the other has it all together.

The last part of the book tore out my heart then mended it beautifully.

all middle schoolers read this!
