One of the most meaningful, empowering, and visionary books I‘ve read in some time. It was in part a call to action re: 2016, so it‘s….super relevant. Valarie Kaur is an important voice for right now, and always. Looking forward to reading her recently published book soon (tagged in comment ⬇️).

This memoir astonished and altered me. Coming of age as an American Sikh in the aftermath of 9/11, Valarie Kaur‘s dedication to making a difference and her extraordinary courage in the face of hate crimes, police brutality, and sexual assault are made only more remarkable by her resilient compassion toward those who‘d harm her. Read this if you believe a better world takes both courage and kindness and you‘d like to become more of both.

I love foreshadowing in history. What did Iraq become? Well, it became another Vietnam with Afghanistan that destroyed a Bush presidency. This story used illustration to convey body language to convey emotions and feelings. You can see characters showing a range of emotions, from curiosity and hesitancy to friendship and joy.

This is a story about friendship, misunderstandings, and overcoming differences. A young boy, has an enemy and his dad suggests a remedy: making an enemy pie.

This was a wonderful read, I just finished it but I know it works. Because I applied some of the principles I'd read today, during my speech. It was a presidential debate like event, where 4 of my other competitors also spoke. I applied the pathos to best use, mixing humor and adding logos to the mix. Guess what! I won the debate(also the elections)!

Now take this from President of a School Parliament : read it, it's filled with knowledge.
