Pickpick

I didn‘t finish it in one day, but I did wrap it up this morning over tea. Just as good as the first, there‘s no connection between them (except a blink-and-you‘ll-miss-it cameo by an unnamed Riley). Quinn has baggage to deal with when she joins Logan‘s D&D group at her new school, and their brewing attraction could scuttle the whole game. Green flags abound in these stories! Just the pick-me-up I needed when the world is terrible.

I'm going to be running a few of the heists from here. I think I'll do a review for each one and how it went 😅

Happy AAPI MONTH!! Happy Spring.

I decided to do a book spin for this month to get out of my reading slump. I have a D20 dice, I listed books, book themes, and activities. I have some AAPI authors or protagonists in my bookspin to celebrate AAPI.

What are your AAPI recs?

What is everyone reading out there?

question for my DnD folks - what are some good DnD-themed or inspired books that you would recommend?

PuddleJumper One of my groups has a list of d&d type books or unhinged fantasy books. I've not read all of these.

'Classics' would be The Dark Elf Trilogy by R. A. Salvatore, Riftwar Cycle by Raymond E. Feist, The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon, and Dragonlance by Margaret Weis

Kingfisher, Aching God by Mike Shel, They Met in a Tavern by Elijah Menchaca, The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, The Riyria Revelations by Michael J Sullivan, The Eidyn Saga by Justin Lee Anderson, The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons, Alex Verus series by Benedict Jacka 1w

Another great one in the series. Love all the characters and the stories of the adventures of the crew.

Structure-wise, this is a perfectly fine D&D book, but I personally didn‘t really connect with the setting or the conflicts between the various guilds. This might work better for fans of Magic: The Gathering.

I liked this better than Monsters of the Multiverse. What I liked best was the descriptions of various species‘ pantheons, which will be very helpful to me as I build my Elf Cleric.

When the book is just too good to stop, but you have to leave for school. Teaching kiddo the second how to read and walk safely.

Mehso-so

Structurally, this book is a Pick. Lots of info about the world of Eberron, and even a few sample adventures to get the campaign started. But content-wise, for me, it‘s a so-so, because Eberron is a grim, gritty noir world and I don‘t think I would enjoy a campaign there. I also skimmed most of the last two chapters.
