Amos Oz is a great writer indeed! And this novel about the birth of Christianity and the foundation of the State of Israel more actual than ever.

Loved this book, one of the best in the series for me and read it in 24 hours as couldn‘t put it down. Also feels quite a watershed in the series at the end so interested to see where this is taken in the next book.

Finally feeling as if I am getting my reading mojo back after almost a month and a half struggling to focus.

The title is a bit of a tongue twister, but the story is really good. It has just the right amount of repetition to drive the narrative and pin the ritual (featured in the title). I didn't get the feeling that the story was a fable or true, so it was a surprise to learn that it is both. The MC: the ox was not named, but an ox did once teach a man a lesson about Shabbat. And that man was Rabbi Yohanan ben Torta. The author named this ox Shoshi

I absolutely loved this series. Christian fiction at it's best!

I'm excited to start the 4th and last book in the Jerusalem Road series 🤩

I really like Liyana and the way Shihab Nye portrays her family's move from Missouri to Jerusalem, but I can't figure out the meaning of the abrupt ending. Is it supposed to be hopeful? Or maybe it's supposed to represent that, regardless of the relationships between individuals in Israel/Palestine, the conflicts have a life of their own?

I read this with my son as part of Level 7 of the Build Your Library homeschool curriculum.

This is book 2 in the Jerusalem Road series. This is beautiful Christian fiction, based on faith and fact, focus on women.

Another KU book. I enjoyed this. It really read true on how mother/daughter relationships are so very complex! At times the characters were down right unlikable but despite that the read was compelling.
