Seeking book recommendations for my 10 y.o. son. He‘s in 4th grade and dipping toes into horror…he‘s been allowed to watch some scary movies (The Omen, The Conjuring, The Shining, It (1990 miniseries), Signs, The Sixth Sense).

He‘s wanted to read Stephen King, so for his birthday he got The Eyes of the Dragon & The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. He‘s devouring these books…

Any recommendations for where to steer him next? Thanks, Litsy! 💜🩷

JackOBotts No nightmares from the reads/movies. He‘s also reading some of my Fear Street books from childhood, but not as fast as the King novels. I will add that we‘re trying to avoid excessive language, sex, gore in the books at the moment (good luck with King!), but he also understands the balance. #raisingreaders 🥰 (edited) 2w

PathfinderNicole I have a 7th grade horror fan myself and he LOVES the Five Night‘s at Freddy‘s books! There are full length novels and oodles of short story collections. There are also a couple based off the kids horror game Hello Neighbor. Try Mary Downing Hahn or Betty Wright for older kid friendly horror too

Billypar I read this as an adult a few years ago, but it's one I wished I read as a kid because it's so, so creepy and original. Not at all like adult horror if he's reading King, but I don't think it feels too young either.

This was just meh. But it might be ok if you're a new manager and didn't already read dozens of these. Julie is a Facebook veteran and does talk about some of her more senior coworkers but overall 🤷

marleed 😂😂 I hope his partner is doing okay 🤣. I have a 2 yo grandson who loves 2–3 inch figures. He‘s currently renamed with the Sesame Street gang. Well, was. I was concerned his lack of knowledge of Kermit and Miss Piggy so purchased a set of five Muppet Baby figures. Animal is his new favorite object. Muppet merchandise is currently not a big marketing toy so the search is on! 4mo

Great book to become not only a great leader but a great communicator, friend, and human being. Sometimes it is not as engaging with the reader, that‘s why I give it a 4⭐️, but a good read nonetheless.

Well. This book took me years to lead but I got there in the end. I think it hit a little too close to home and I took a huge breather before I was ready to go back. Then I breezed through the last third and loved it 🤷🏼‍♀️ really thankful for the work Brene does in leadership spaces. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is an easy read. Marx clearly lays out the call to follow Jesus with your life and fight for what God commands. It's an encouraging look at what happens to someone's life that's surrendered to following God. At times the macho feels a bit much but that's the price of making the point that we often let weakness and fear run our lives.
