This is the 10th book of the Lottie Parker series. It can be read as a standalone as I enjoyed it and haven't read any of the other books in the series. But in order to connect better with the characters, it is a good idea to read the series in order. It is a police procedural set in Ragmullin, Ireland. It was a fast-paced plot with lots of secrets and kept me guessing until the very end.

EadieB The case is complex as there are two different investigations going on at the same time. Isabel Gallagher has been found dead by her mother, Anita Boland, but her new-born daughter, Holly, was not harmed. Joyce Breslin, Isabel's friend, has also been found murdered and her son, Evan, is missing. Also, a walker discovers child bones on a hill under a tree. Are all these events connected? That's what Lottie and her crew need to find out. 2y
EadieB We end up with lots of suspects from all the well-developed characters. The book has themes of domestic abuse, self-harm and violence against children. The book ended with a cliffhanger regarding Lottie's relationship with DS Boyd so I am looking forward to the next installment. If you enjoy mysteries which are emotionally gripping, then you will enjoy this book. I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for a free copy for an honest review. 2y
