Little Bones
Little Bones: A totally addictive crime thriller | Patricia Gibney
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
She lifted up her granddaughter from the cot, clutched her to her chest and, without looking at her beautiful daughter lying dead on the floor of her bedroom, ran from the house. Only when she was outside did she let a wail escape her lips, frightening the baby who joined in her screams. When Isabel Gallagher is found murdered on the floor of her babys nursery by her mother, its a gruelling case for Detective Lottie Parker. Isabels pyjamas have been ripped, her throat cut and an old-fashioned razor blade placed in her hand. As Lottie looks at the round blue eyes and perfect chubby cheeks of Isabels baby daughter, she cant understand who would want to hurt this innocent family. That very same day she receives a call with devastating news. Another young mother, Joyce Breslin, has gone missing, and her four-year-old son Evan has been abducted from daycare. Lottie is sure that the missing mother and son are linked to Isabels death, and when she finds a bloody razor blade in their house, her worst fears are confirmed. Desperate to find little Evan, Lottie leaves no stone unturned as she delves into Isabel and Joyces pasts and when she realises the two women have been meeting in secret, she knows she must find out why. But when Joyces body is found in a murky pond and some little bones are found on a windy hillside, it feels as if this merciless killer will stop at nothing. The bones arent Evans but can they give Lottie the final clue to find the innocent child before more lives are taken? This absolutely gripping and unputdownable crime thriller from bestselling author Patricia Gibney will leave you gasping for breath. A perfect read for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine. What everyones saying about Patricia Gibney: This was THE BEST book I have read in quite some time. This is the 10th book of the Lottie Parker series. It can be read as a standalone as I enjoyed it and haven't read any of the other books in the series. But in order to connect better with the characters, it is a good idea to read the series in order. It is a police procedural set in Ragmullin, Ireland. It was a fast-paced plot with lots of secrets and kept me guessing until the very end.

EadieB The case is complex as there are two different investigations going on at the same time. Isabel Gallagher has been found dead by her mother, Anita Boland, but her new-born daughter, Holly, was not harmed. Joyce Breslin, Isabel's friend, has also been found murdered and her son, Evan, is missing. Also, a walker discovers child bones on a hill under a tree. Are all these events connected? That's what Lottie and her crew need to find out. 2y
EadieB We end up with lots of suspects from all the well-developed characters. The book has themes of domestic abuse, self-harm and violence against children. The book ended with a cliffhanger regarding Lottie's relationship with DS Boyd so I am looking forward to the next installment. If you enjoy mysteries which are emotionally gripping, then you will enjoy this book. I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for a free copy for an honest review. 2y
