The format ended up being a bit distracting for me. I prefer a more linear history, I guess, and with this format you jump back and forth on the time line alot. Still, it's a very entertaining read, both because NPH is an interesting guy, and also for the fun added elements, such as fictional endings, recipes, cocktails, portions written by friends, magic tricks, secret pages, etc.

It wasn't as bad as it could have been. Fairly preachy and heavy handed, with a mediocre plot winding through detailed explanations of the writer's political views. Self published and as far to the left as you can get (house cats described as animal slavery in a toss away comment), it was oddly amusing, especially given current events. Bought this at a #FOTL book sale in the library in my very conservative town. Lol #MountTBRChallenge2020
