The Last Jihad | Joel C. Rosenberg
post image

[March13] This Last Jihad series is perfect for today's #MarchMadness #PoliticalFicNonFic. This set was given to me but missing book 2. It's been on my shelf for a looonngg time! Perhaps should try this genre? It's really out of my comfort zone though. Anyone read this series before?

somebooksaround I haven‘t read this series, but sounds interesting! Usually political themes make me anxious, but some have been really good. Political aspects in scifi based novels are usually the way to go, for me😬🙌📚 7y
thereadingowlvina @josteele You are definitely way more adventurous than me! Ok, any political themed recommendations for a newbie like me? 😁 7y
somebooksaround Game of Thrones is for sure political, those books are a little much for me but people like it loll - the first two books of the Outlander series are very political. Historical/Political/Fiction. Animal Farm is a classic! 🙌 the TBR list forever grows 😂 7y
thereadingowlvina @josteele Thanks! I shall gather up my courage and try this genre *gulp* 😐 7y

I loved this dissection of the mind of an ambitious politician from the wrong side of the tracks. Paul Daley is a Canberra insider and knows the people and the system he's writing about. The central character seemed to me be a clever amalgam of recent (and current) leaders of the Australian Labor Party. It may be incomprehensible to nonAustralians.
