Oh wow. I am heartbroken that this series has ended with this fifth book, Sword and Pen, but am glad that there is a closure now and the ending is satisfactory.

"The power of just mercy is that it belongs to the undeserving."
What a harrowing yet powerful story of lawyer and founder of Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), Bryan Stevenson and his inspirational journey in fighting sociopolitical injustice and advocating against death penalty.

Written by two amazingly talented hymn writers - Keith & Kristyn Getty, this is a book about singing and praising the Lord and how singing can transform the way we worship in our life, family and church.

Happy Friday everyone!!! Thanks for the fun @howjessreads #friyayintro!!! 😁💗
WOW. This book is definitely not what I expected. It is not the usual true crime narration. The author connects 4 archetypes - Detective, Victim, Defender, Killer - & how crime stories affected them in different ways due to their peculiar obsession with them. I almost bailed on this book but ended up enjoying it way much more than I thought I would!

I picked this book because it's about women's obsession over true crime stories & how they were affected by it. I'm not obsessed with the crime but am more interested in the investigation & forensics side of this genre.

Aargghh! I DNF 2 books this week!
1. ➡️ The writing is great but I felt that as I read on, the story is getting more depressing & there's no real plot;
2. ➡️ Scattered & fragmented storytelling. I spent most of my time re-reading pages as I have no idea which characters is talking at that moment.
So looking forward to read these two books but life is too short (or in my case, my TBR is getting big), to finish books that frustrates me!
If you like the tv show House, or medical mysteries, this may be the book for you! It's entertaining and easy to read.
