#Trollopeing #BandOfTrollopes how do you know you are reading a Victorian novel ? When the author says this novel is about Dr.Thorne but the background means you don‘t really meet the character till chapter 3 ! I borrowed ebook cuz I have a dozen Trollopes in the house yet none are Dr.Thorne!
tokorowilliamwallace I still need to get to my recently-acquired Barchester Towers! I love the infamous Victorian Germanic sentence! And I love background context, so ones that get lengthy, bogged down, and rambling are my thing! But also my reading attention is poor. But it's my communication style. 12mo

Liz_M Apparently AT asked his brother to suggest a plot. The brother came up with Mary's background and some other legal details which come into play later. So there needed to be more scene setting for this one, rather than just starting with Dr. Thorne or the Greshams. 12mo
