Pickpick

A sweet novella set in Bangalore that tackles what happens when a family suddenly moves from a tight budget to wealth. While they‘re much more comfortable in some ways, fundamental relationships among each other and with those around them unravel as a result.

Cinfhen Sounds good!! I‘ve seen other reviews for this book and they also enjoyed #stacked 4y
Singout @Cinfhen Yes, there are lots of layers and a strong feminist angle to it. 4y
Nute I don‘t see a post about this book too often. I thoroughly enjoyed it a few years ago. 4y

Pickpick

A bombing in a market kills a couple‘s two sons and the book explores the impact this bombing has on the family, a friend of the boys who survives, and the terrorists involved. Complex look at how people are changed in unexpected ways, the many faces of injustice, and terror. #setinsouthasia #booked2020

For today's #setinsouthasia prompt, here's a book that high up in my TBR pile. I listened to an interview with the author in the BBC World Book Club podcast and got the book immediately. It's in my 2017 reading plan. Can't get to it fast enough! It's set in Malaysia.

FernsAndFairyTales I read this last year and loved it. Can't wait to see what you think of it! 8y
ramyasbookshelf I can't wait to start! Everything about the book sounded wonderful! 8y
