Her short stories will really get you thinking and they make you feel like you're right in the story. If you haven't read anything by Megan Mayhew Bergman, check this out! Or her other book which we enjoyed and discussed for our third episode, Almost Famous Women. #shortstorysunday #shortstories

#ShortStorySunday on a Monday! ?
"Brothers" is the second story in the "100 Years of the Best American Short Stories" collection and it was as excellent as the first. Anderson's writing is very descriptive -- you can easily picture the story in your mind's eye. And even as the story switches from 1st person POV to 3rd, the writing remains vivid and easily placed in the imagination. #shortstories

My first #shortstorysunday. 😊
In 2017, I've resolved to read one short story a week; the book pictured will get me through nearly the entire year!
This is the story of an aging bachelor who seeks to find himself in earthly pleasures after taking care of his sisters through their single years. Edna Ferber's descriptions of Chicago and the luxuries her main character seeks come alive on the page -- I think I may put one of her novels on my TBR. 🤔
