so-soMiss Cornelia Van Gorder hears unearthly sounds but sill will not leave her isolated mansion she shares with her niece, maid, butler and a young man who may be an embezzler. She does get a chance at a deadly game of detection with The Bat, who is a thief. Inspiration for Bob Kane's Batman. Suspenseful with humorous characters. Not her best but worth a read!
