One of my main issues with Whiplash was how unrealistic it was about jazz,a collaborative art form.I love this book,it's a great read, but also this sums up what I feel about Whiplash-jazz requires hard work and practice,and the lead character turning up at a gig without practising with the rest of the band is ridiculous.
