DrSpalding Remember that science fiction is often rooted in scientific principles. This is more so modern fantasy. Reading is fundamental is an excellent resource and you could certainly use these ideas after an effective read aloud. Your English learner and universal design principles align nicely. 5y

DrSpalding Storytelling could work nicely for this particular book. Remember that you want your resource to complement the teaching strategy you selected. If your resource assists effective read aloud‘s then you would want to cite read aloud as your teaching strategy. 5y

DrSpalding While this is non-fiction… It is actually a biography highlighting the lives of 18 women. Her series of books would work well in social studies units about historical figures. Reading rockets is an excellent resource. 5y

DrSpalding Again, your resources and teaching strategy don‘t quite align. Just listing the English learner and universal design principles don‘t show how you would connect all of these elements. A little more detail is needed. 5y

JoslynB I saw this book and fell in love with the concept immediately. It is nice to see someone choose it. This book is great to incorporate with a social study lesson. It also helps to introduce important historical figures outside of the typical curriculum that can expand student's knowledge of significant accomplishments. I think your EL principle will work well when discussing it in class. 5y

DrSpalding You need to truly think about ways to incorporate these books beyond independent reading. There are many other teaching strategies that would work better with the quality book selections you have made. See previous comments. 5y
