The autobiography of Eileen Collins, the first woman to pilot a space shuttle and command a mission for NASA.
I love biographies of astronauts. This is the story of such an amazing pioneer. She is honest & frank, talking about the difficulties of her childhood and what she regrets. And she is really up front with the mistakes she‘s made in her career. But she also sounds like a lot of fun, talking about the pranks she would help pull. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
I really liked that it was more about his life and his trips to space (and the huge amount of preparation for it. Oh, the amount of planning is incredible – particularly focusing on (all) the worst case scenario(s). There were bits of “advice” here and there that can be taken for life in general. I just found the planning and the trips to space so interesting. I hadn‘t realized he‘d also done some youtube videos, so I‘ve had to take a look!
Absolutely love the illustrations in this, i think they are so cute!
But failure is not an ending——it‘s an opportunity to learn something new
This biography is put in a fun graphic novel style that is engaging for students
A child friendly biography about the life of Neil Armstrong. He starts as a young, determined child with big goals. He grows to love planes, join the navy, and go to college to become an engineer. People called him a lot of things, but he considered himself an engineer. He had to find solutions to problems.
This book is so kid friendly and focuses on all the great traits that made Neil Armstrong him!
“But how was I ever going to get through and medical school when I could barely sit still”
I think this is a really good thing to put a children‘s book because there‘s a lot of students who do struggle with this, and he eventually became an a famous astronaut.
