pickThis essay was written in 2000 by science fiction author Octavia Butler, who did predict our future in her dystopian novels, right down to the slogan. It was made into a book with beautiful illustrations. It is profound, and it would be cool if everyone read it. She encourages us to learn from history as well as be aware of now. I intend to read it multiple times so that I can absorb the message and get through today.
