What a powerful book and such an important topic… even though it was uncomfortable to read at times it had me hooked! Genova is a master of bringing hard topics to the forefront!

This was a good read. Maddy, in her early 20‘s, is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and we learn about her manic and depressive states as she attempts to navigate through her moods. As a parent with a bipolar kid, I thought this was well researched and written though a bit over the top at times but in an engaging, bookish way.

MyNamesParadise I loved this book so much!! It made a great audiobook on Libby but loved it so much I bought the physical book too. I recommended it for my book club and everyone loved it & thought it was an important book to read. I‘ve had mental health struggles since I was 10 (now I‘m 33) so seeing a young woman in fiction adapt to having a mental health condition was a great thing to see by such a popular author. 5mo
Cortg @MyNamesParadise I‘m glad there is more talk about mental health in today‘s society. It used to be such a taboo thing to talk about and made those suffering feel alone. Stories like these are important! 5mo
MyNamesParadise @Cortg couldn‘t agree more!! 5mo

There was a lot to like about this one, but there was also a lot I found quite silly. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This story is about Maddy a young college student who is given bipolar diagnosis. I learned a lot about this awful disorder and had empathy for Maddy but at the same time there was something about the story and main character and the ending that just didn‘t sit well with me I don‘t have enough room here to explain. This was between pick & so-so
