Purple Hibiscus: A Novel | Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Pickpick

A powerful story of a Nigerian family, culture and religion told through the eyes of a young woman. What an achievement for a first novel! The audio was fantastic! It allowed me to hear the correct pronunciation of Nigerian words. I mostly listened to it, but I also had the book. The audio was Recorded Book Imprint Giot. More in comments. #readingafrica #nigeria

Bookwormjillk @DivineDiana very cool! I loved this book and planned on re-reading it this year for #ReadingAfrica but did not know about Griot Audio. 2y
Librarybelle Oh! Thanks for sharing about the audio! 2y
BarbaraBB Love your review. I just finished it too, mostly on audio but in print too. And you are right about the audio! 2y
DivineDiana @BarbaraBB Thank you! It was nice to have both options to see the proper spelling and to hear the pronunciation. 2y
