Happiness is waking up early to read the new Detective Matthew Venn Short Story.

Definitely a short story at 16 pages. I finished reading before I finished my morning tea. But Matthew and Jen are there. As well as the beautiful imagery that Ann Cleeves is so brilliant at. The Two Rivers Series is a favorite of mine so it was a lovely treat to start the day.

If you're a fan of Ann Cleeves' Vera Stanhope there's also a 3 Chapter/14 Page Excerpt of next in that series The Rising Tide which is coming in September.

As yet I've only read the first Vera Book which I enjoyed. I've said it before, sometimes it's nice to be late to party. I look forward to reading the whole stack of Vera.🫖🕵🏻‍♂️📖🌅🌊

Ruthiella I‘ve only read her Shetland series. I agree, however, that it can be wonderful to come to a series late and have all the books published! 3y
