I enjoyed that the book had a variety of different poems with different rhythms and rhymes. The illustrations add a whole new element to the poems which really helps engage the reader and imagine what the poem is saying, which is a great learning strategy.
This is an information poetry book on dirt and many of the different organisms the live in dirt. They talk about ants and earthworms and more, describing what they do informing the readers while enjoying poetry.
I want to take this whole poem as a quote, because I think it highlights them excellence and power of nature being able to do all these things with little Taz, your resources, just using themselves.
I love that the book orientation is like a sketchbook and you turn the pages it up instead of from side to side. I think it does it this way to show the depth of how far these animals go into the ground. I think it‘s a fun and creative element that adds to the quality of the book.
This is a book full of homes about animals that live underground or we could see outside playing in the yard. Along with fun pictures that show where these animals live in a fun way of describing how they got there and what they do when they‘re there.
I like that the poems dont all rhyme as it is a good way to introduce different types of poems to children
