Make Way for Ducklings | Robert McCloskey

“Mr. and Mrs. Mallard were bursting with pride. It was a great responsibility taking care of so many ducklings, and it kept them very busy.”

Make Way for Ducklings | Robert McCloskey

This is another book that my parents used to read to me when I was little and I always loved it. It reminded us of them because they used to live in Boston before I was around. It is such a sweet book and it makes people think about what animals in cities may be going through. There is nothing wrong with throwing bread to the ducks sometimes.

They find many places that could be god but its too busy or too dangerous. The mother sits on the eggs while the father finds the perfect home for them. My working mom of 3 made time to read us classic picture books like this one, “The Snowy Day” and “Corduroy.” She didn‘t have much time to read herself, but she made sure to read to us. #picturebooks #kidlit

On our road trip back to Albany from Portland Maine, my sister and I decided to dip down into Boston. Good Luck was following us because we found the
Make Way For Duckling sculptures at Boston Commons!

tpixie @Kdgordon88 I was so excited to see them. We were so lucky to have parked at the right corner of the park because we really didn‘t have time to go around hunting for them! (edited) 2y

Love Is | Diane Adams
post image
Pickpick

“Love is....” by Diane Adams is a RF-RA/CR book about a girl who finds a duck and decides to keep it and take care of it, only to realize that at a certain point the duck was getting big and ready to be out on his own again in the world. This book talks about all the the things that love is, like taking care of something fragile, and knowing when it‘s time to let go. This book is very special to me because it reminds me of my kids. #UCFLAE3414SP21

melodyp UDL 3.2 (Highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas and relationships) and ESOL 20 (List the most important words and phrases you use or plan to use in a presentation on a transparency or on the chalkboard) are strategies that would be beneficial when reading this book. 3y
melodyp A great website for activities that can be used to accompany this book is https://lovinlifewithlittles.com/activities-about-love-kids-valentines-day-presc... - there are many great resources for activities about “love”, as well as great discussion questions. 3y
DrSpalding Your storytelling was lovely. This is a powerful book that you could certainly use around Valentine's Day but at other times of the year as well. Good book selection and helpful resources. 3y

#ThoughtfulThursday

1. My favorite part of spring are the days when you don‘t need the heat or the AC on because the weather is just right. We don‘t get enough of those days in N.C.

2. Not so much in spring. I read a little of everything all year!

The tagged book is what came to mind. I guess baby animals seem like spring.
