“Mr. and Mrs. Mallard were bursting with pride. It was a great responsibility taking care of so many ducklings, and it kept them very busy.”
This is another book that my parents used to read to me when I was little and I always loved it. It reminded us of them because they used to live in Boston before I was around. It is such a sweet book and it makes people think about what animals in cities may be going through. There is nothing wrong with throwing bread to the ducks sometimes.
This book written and illustrated by Robert McCloskey was published in 1941 and won the Caldecott medal in 1942. It is about a couple of ducks looking for a place to raise their family in Boston. They find many places that could be god but its too busy or too dangerous. The mother sits on the eggs while the father finds the perfect home for them. The mother and duckings have to walk to their new home across the busy city and they get some help too
My working mom of 3 made time to read us classic picture books like this one, “The Snowy Day” and “Corduroy.” She didn‘t have much time to read herself, but she made sure to read to us. #picturebooks #kidlit
On our road trip back to Albany from Portland Maine, my sister and I decided to dip down into Boston. Good Luck was following us because we found the

“Love is....” by Diane Adams is a RF-RA/CR book about a girl who finds a duck and decides to keep it and take care of it, only to realize that at a certain point the duck was getting big and ready to be out on his own again in the world. This book talks about all the the things that love is, like taking care of something fragile, and knowing when it‘s time to let go. This book is very special to me because it reminds me of my kids. #UCFLAE3414SP21

1. My favorite part of spring are the days when you don‘t need the heat or the AC on because the weather is just right. We don‘t get enough of those days in N.C.
2. Not so much in spring. I read a little of everything all year!
The tagged book is what came to mind. I guess baby animals seem like spring.
