I am a Christian, wannabe cowgirl, and I love to read. Must I say anything more? :)

I know I've loved many books without seeing the movies for fear of the book being ruined, but there are some movies I've seen without reading the book for fear of the movie being ruined. Little Women and Holes are two books I've read that the movie closely follows. In short, I have no idea.

Is this a hard question for anyone else? 😂😂

Read-n-Bloom Probably read the book first, then watch the movie. 2d

For me I'm definately a medieval/fantastical.
I mean, who can turn down a crackling fire with books and fairies everywhere? If only, if only. 😍

TiredLibrarian Medieval here too! 5d
bellabella @TiredLibrarian when are they going to make a time machine? 😂 5d

I feel like this series never gets old, however many times I read it. Even as I get older, I don't think I could ever outgrow it.
Are there any books like that for any of you guys?

For anyone who hasn't read the greek myth of Icarus, here is a quick summary.
Icarus's father Daedalus was an amazing inventor who created the Labyrinth for a monster but angered King Minos when he taught the prince of Athens how to defeat it. Minos sent Daedalus and Icarus into the Labyrinth and they escaped when Daedalus created waxen wings they used to fly away. Icarus, despite being warned, flew too close to the sun and his wings melted.

I'm definitely a #4 and a very close #5. I can't read while with family or at work, although I wish I could do the latter. 😂
What's your favorite time to read?

Cute but not my favorite

If I chose In the Barn, I would rather be riding than reading. I'd rather go swimming if I was at the beach, and I think the cafe would be too distracting, so I'm going with Mountains.
Play along if you like!

TheSpineView Totally agree on the barn! ❤️📖🐎 2w

Too many swear words, in my opinon. Sadly. I've heard good things about it.

I read this book twice before I had to return it to the library because I loved it so much.
It's in a series but it can be read as a standalone.

Anyone want the chance to get a free (and swoony) pdf book? 😎😍
Mary Mecham strikes straight to the heart in her novella, A Curse of Gold and Beauty. A golden thread in the otherwise black tapestry of today's fantasy romance genre, it has a flare of excitement, adventure, and selflessness that doesn't fail.
The book is free when you sign up for Mary Mecham's newsletter!!

My book without the dust jacket. I am a sucker for beautiful hardcovers!! Anyone else the same?

Misty's Twilight | Marguerite Henry
Mehso-so

This is a higher so-so. I own the book but out of all of Marguerite Henry's books I've read I've only read it twice (compared to several for the others I own). I guess I just felt a little jilted after reading Misty of Chincoteague, Stormy, Misty's Foal, and others.

Swoony. Arranged marriage. Clean.
All that was missing was enemies-to-lovers and this would have been a compilation of my favorite tropes! Overall an amazing book. Wouldn't recommend for younger teens.

The Midnight Blizzard | Mary Mecham

Pickpick

Jack and Noelle were so cute in The Midnight Blizzard by Mary Mecham I literally didn't stop reading until I finished the book. Mary Mecham wrote them well and so realistically I was actually in the cold kingdom of Nieva, as Noelle's invisible best friend.
If you like to read fast-paced, friends-to-lovers, no-spice romance, I highly recommend this book for you.
I received an ARC from this author but the review above is my honest opinion.

Ashes | Christopher de Vinck

I got this book at a bookstore for really cheap and loved it so much. It is set in the Holocaust and it really hit hard. Beautiful is the word I would use to describe it. The friendship between the two main characters is so inspiring.

A Voice in the Wind | Francine Rivers

This book is my favorite in the series. I've read it cover to cover too many times to count. Thanks to my mom for getting me hooked!!!! It is such a beautiful story.
