"The night of the buffalo it rained."
I looked up from my reading and this was happening. Beautifully creepy.
Started today. This is my 5th book by Peter Heller. I enjoy his settings, his characters, and his storylines.
3.75 ⭐. This was really about the characters. It had an engaging story line but I would have liked more depth.
I will read the nest in the series.

The characters were interesting and diverse. The murderer was hard to identify. But something was missing to make it 4 stars. It didn't compel me to read more.
"Beth knew she couldn't leave for work until she dealt with the dead body on the beach."
How's that for an opening sentence! ?
I've completed 3 half-finished books in the last two days. I have one more but not sure if I will do it now.
4 ⭐. This would have been 5 stars but I didn't feel it was as easily readable as others of his.
"The sun sets in the sets in the west (just about everyone knows that), but Sunset Towers faced east. Strange!

My third book by the author. His books are creepy, around 200 pgs usually, and easy to read. I also watched the movie with Kevin Bacon. 4⭐

2. @NataliePatalie, my daughter
3. My growing up family was pretty dysfunctional. But with my kids growing up we played a lot of games and went to a lot of cool places for homeschooling field trips.
