An inspiring author, Abrams shares her love of words and how she learned to speak up. This does not tell the story about when she was turned away from a spelling bee because the person at the door looked at her and thought she probably couldn't spell. #everbodybooks #spellingbees

I really loved this #gazingbooks book. Normally I get irritated by rhyming books, but this seemed more poetic. The illustrations imply what the cat thinks it's seeing. There's a sneaky mouse, a misunderstood squirrel and other creatures cats encounter. 🐈 not just for kids, this #everbodybooks is full of vocabulary and visual treats.

The Washington State library association nominated 20 books and the kids have voted. My school chose Llama destroys the world with 24 votes. A Tie for second with 23 votes each was Borrowing bunnies and Magic ramen. Now I'm waiting for the state results to learn the winner... so many great books #everbodybooks #kidlit #WCCPBA

Nominated for the Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award. I think students will love this book. It reminds me of Dan Santat's Beekle, both books could inspire some great kid art. #WCCPBA #readoutloud #everbodybooks

I love this book. Loaded with visual gems and great conversation starters around grief and gender norms. Nominated for the 2022 Washington Children's Picture Book Award, I'll read this to my students next year along with 19 others and they will vote for their favorite. #everbodybooks #readoutloud #WCCPBA

Chelsea.Poole I love this one too! 3y

Whenever I tell my students that a book is a true story, you can hear them gasp. They love history. Why do we ruin it for them with the way we teach it? Our two big questions with this book, what inspired Frank? What was his break through or when did he figure it out? This book has science, recipes, history and grit. #readoutloud #kidlit #everbodybooks

Librariana I love hearing kids being excited by learning! That reading has engaged their curiosity and hopefully encourages them to learn more... explore more books about an interest. Yay! 😄 3y
mandarchy @Librariana they really light up every time I tell them it's a true story. Imagine no pop at the store, Frank had to make soda pop from scratch and the author shares his recipe! 3y
