I bought this for some challenge or another last year but then never got to it. I finally got to it this week and enjoyed the author‘s travels while looking for the secret to happiness.

DogMomIrene I bought this one years ago. I think it was for a book club I never got to😂 Will need to reconsider this one. 2mo

This reminded me of ‘The Little Book of Hygge‘, that I read a few years ago that featured Danish ideals of coziness. ‘Njuta‘ focuses on ‘the Swedish art of savoring the moment‘, but the concepts seem similar — candles, wool socks, reading, cake, fresh air, taking moments for yourself, etc. which I can totally get behind. But I felt this was mostly capitalizing on a familiar trend in lifestyle advice. Also, the holidays still sound like too much.

I‘ve had this on my Litsy TBR for awhile, finally got around to the audiobook, narrated by author. Think I mainly wanted to read it because of the travel, & I definitely enjoyed hearing about different cultures, traditions, & lifestyles. A lot of the people interviewed by the author were interesting. I really liked the grandmother in Moldova. Amusing at times. The parts about happiness were good but not as interesting to me. 3.75⭐️

‘“Feeling right” is about living the life that‘s right for you.‘ This is exactly how I felt about becoming a UPS driver at the advanced age of 48. I‘d spent twenty years in higher education but it just never felt right to me. It‘s hard to explain but becoming a UPS driver felt like coming out of my cocoon and becoming the butterfly I was all along. And THAT‘S why I‘m so happy now!

Clare-Dragonfly That is wonderful! 1y

‘In fact, for both men and women — and this finding struck me as highly significant — the most reliable predictor of not being lonely is the amount of contact with women. Time spent with men doesn‘t make a difference.‘ Huh 🤔

Texreader 😂😂 Love this!! 1y

Suet624 @DocBrown I don‘t even think there‘s a mute button. 😀 I guess I just have to remember to check your posts manually. 1y

We finally finished reading this book. It was a three book bind up. I read this book to my grandma at night. We enjoyed the book. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.
