KVanRead @tpixie oooh, that is tough...City Lights Bookstore is a must. Be sure to check out all 3 floors and Café Tosca across the street is a landmark (Bogie and Bacall used to drink there) and recently reopened as a restaurant. That's also not far from Café Trieste where Coppola apparently penned Apocalypse Now. Other bookstore picks: Book Passage in the Ferry Building, Alley Cat Books in the Mission. Other restos: there are so many butCafé Claude, 8y
