This is my least favorite of the Norman trilogy. There were many melodramatic scenes especially when Stephen and Matilda have their “passionate” moments,the plot was still interesting. I didn‘t like the two main characters especially Matilda. She is an entitled, arrogant, ruthless brat! I wish I could reach through the pages and punch her. Stephen is a weak pushover fuck boy that just annoyed me with his decisions and his passiveness.

Slow reading month. The Lion of Justice took me forever to finish because it was so boring and of course 300 and something pages.
Sleepless was short sweet and simple read I needed after that. #Septemeberwrapup #readingstats

So boring and I couldn‘t wait to finish.

Not bad. Had some cheesy dialogue but otherwise a good story. Made me interested in learning more about William the Conqueror and Matilda.

Wish I could stay home and read but have to Work 😑🙄

Starting alllll the way from the beginning

“Where will I discover the meaning of this book?”

This is what I imagine these two chaps on the cover of this book are saying to each other.

This was a hard slog of a book, mostly because it was so well researched and completely outside of any area of knowledge I have.

I must have listened to the advice of the clever chap on the cover to keep going until the Epilogue, which was fascinating.

This work of historical fiction, set in 11th-century Britain, is still TBR. Has anyone read this author? She writes mysteries under the pen name of Fiona Buckley.
