pick8/10 - I feel like this was a fun side quest in reading. I love a good graphic novel. The story gives very “Heathers” vibes. I actually enjoyed it down to the plot twist. pickI really loved this one. It‘s 1956 in San Francisco and Chinese American Lily Hu is fascinated by male impersonator Tommy. When her friend Kath knows the club she performs at they decide to go together to see her perform.
In the middle of Chinatown and “the Red Scare,” Lily is falling in love with Kath. A beautiful historical fiction queer story.
