A Monster Calls | Patrick Ness

Making a fake sad face is very hard to do. 😂 But that doesn‘t change the fact that the books I want to talk to you about made me cry very hard! Check out my top 5 tearjerkers here: https://youtu.be/yUWs6j9McHE

JulietReads I think that's an excellent fake sad face. 👏👏👏👍 5y
EadieB @Butterflyamore The only tearjerker that I have read the same as you is Where The Red Fern Grows and I found it very sad too. Another sad dog book that I read was Old Yeller. Others that made me cry are: The Light Between Oceans, Dr. Zhivago, The Thornbirds, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Me Before You. There have been others for sure but can't think of all of them right now. Sad books do help us release our pent up emotions which is good. 5y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB I agree. They can be so helpful. A Monster Calls was especially timely for me. The Light Between Oceans definitely made me cry as well. Even after reading it, while watching the movie, knowing exactly what to expect, I still cried quite a bit. I haven‘t read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, as I hadn‘t realized it was a book when I watched the movie, but I can only imagine how upsetting the book was. The movie was definitely rough. 5y
abookishbutterfly @JulietBooks Thank you! I tried very hard! Haha! 5y
