⭐️⭐️⭐️not a high pick for me due to the slowness that dragged the book in areas but solid premise. Ghost ships and underwater terror was well played out. Story needed to be tighter to stay effective.
Mensun Bound was the Director of Exploration to attempt to find Ernest Shackleton‘s shipwreck at the bottom of an Antarctic sea, the Endurance, which sank during his attempt to be the first to reach the South Pole. This book covers both attempts in 2019 (unsuccessful) & 2022, which was successful. Still only reading a few chapters a day of The Postcard so am not sure how I will do. The tagged book is short, The Batter of Life and Death is the 2nd in a series I‘ve been meaning to go back to, What the Dead Leave Behind is the beginning of a great sounding series and Marion Lane is a holdover from last month.
Hoping my reading mojo comes back soon.

I started this audiobook today for #Antarctica #readingOceania. I decided to forego Greta and Valdin. I‘ve read way too many books on #NewZealand (6 or 7) and once I started listening to it I wasn‘t too keen on it. This will be only my second book for Antarctica

Little Free Library spoils from the holidays.
I forgot how I found out about this book, the same author who wrote Caddy Woodlawn. Read this in one sitting, it was adorable.

I‘m bailing. Hate to do it, but since looking at the excellent books I read in January I don‘t want to lose that streak of excellence just starting off in February. This book is dry as dirt. There‘s a shipwreck but it‘s not as dire as it makes out. They‘re on an island with a constant food source (sea lions) and ability to build shelter. If it weren‘t cast as so life-threatening then maybe it‘d be ok. But the attempt at drama is poor. ⬇️
