I've been wanting to finish this series for years, but my library didn't have the third one. Book Outlet for the win! #shadesofautumn #fallintobooks

@RealLifeReading

RealLifeReading I've not heard of this series before but sounds fun! 7y

Pickpick

This one was a bit of a slow starter for me. I definitely liked book one better, but it ended up being enjoyable follow up. Lots of action in the middle and at the end. Love the pairing of Regency England with the strange world of reclaimers and deceivers! I look forward to the next book!

Mehso-so

I was expecting a creepier story. That's what I get for not reading the book jacket. It's a gamble, but it does pay off enough to make it worth doing. If I had seen some of the other covers, I might have had more appropriate expectations. Meanwhile, this is a great historical fiction book that will appeal to young girls. Kit is a great #strongfemaleheroine and the story is lovely. I gave it "so-so" because it just wasn't what I expected.

annahenke This is one of my favorites from childhood! 8y
Notmacaroniandcheese Oh no! I love this book, but I expected something similar when I first read it too. 8y
JoeStalksBeck I was young when I read this and back then it seemed very creepy but now it would just seem like a drama 8y

Readingismyescape @annahenke I see a lot of reviews where people say that. I think it would have been one of mine too as a kid. 8y
Readingismyescape @Notmacaroniandcheese it's a good book. I think the issue was my mindset. It's difficult sometimes to classify books as "pick" "so-so" or "pan". I liked the book, but I didn't love it. ? 8y
Readingismyescape @Book_Addict I can see that. I was reading Stephen King as a early teen, so I don't think this would have creeped me out, but I would have liked the story. 8y
JoeStalksBeck @Readingismyescape I still have my first ghost story book I got at a fifth grade book fair . The Ghost Next Door. I had a hyper imagination and enjoyed being scared lol now days it takes a lot to scare me but I love a good mystery❤️ what's your fav King book? 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 I really liked this one but can see how it might not be what was expected. Agree that it's great historical fiction for kids!😀 8y
Readingismyescape @Book_Addict that's a tough question. If I had to pick just one, I would say The Stand. But I also love The Talisman & It. 8y
