I discovered an amazing bookstore yesterday, and of course, came home with a large #bookhaul! This picture doesn't include the 3 books for the kids or the 5 books my husband got. 😁

Lcsmcat I liked Two-Part Invention, and the Doig I‘d on my TBR. 2w
smilingshelves @Lcsmcat I've got volumes 2 and 4 of L'Engles' journals now. As soon as I can find volume 1, I can start reading them! 😄 I love Ivan Doig, although I haven't read this one yet. 2w

It's finally here!

Anyone else have really slow library systems? I was the first one to put a hold on this before it came out. It was released September 17. But it took my library this long to get it into circulation! They get really popular books out right away, but everything else seems to take at least a month. I find it very annoying!

xicanti Mine‘s the same. They‘re especially slow with comics and anything YA. 1mo

My husband always said he wouldn't let my book collection intrude into our bedroom, since we already have a room designated for books. But then we decided to buy grown-up matching bedroom furniture, and it was his idea to buy a bookcase for each of us! Now I just need to figure out what books to put on it!

Megabooks I love looking at my books before I go to bed, but I‘m weird. 🤣🤪 4mo
smilingshelves @Megabooks I'm with you! I told my husband I needed to pick books to put on it that would make me happy, and he looked at me strangely. 😂 4mo
rretzler I have a smaller amount of hardcovers than I do paperbacks, so I ended up with the hardcovers in the bedroom. Most of those give me joy as they are the books that I couldn‘t wait long enough for them to come out in paper. 🤣 4mo

BucklingBookshelves Oh I love this! And that he has one too is so great. Have fun picking what to put in it! ImperfectCJ I'm doing that right now (with The Road to Unfreedom by Timothy Snyder). I wish I'd done it with The Time Traveler's Wife because the time jumps were difficult to keep track of on audio. I heard that this was a telling of the Biblical story of Ruth and Boaz, which was interesting enough. But to open it to discover that it's a retelling set in 1860s England where "Ruth" is an Indian woman had me so excited. I love the way this retelling brings the Biblical story to life in whole new ways. And the writing is phenomenal. Plus, the cover! ? Highly recommended!
