"That was the way we were going to live. Full on, flat out and no teasing the brakes. Wholeheartedly. Otherwise why bother? We would live life even if it killed us."

Pickpick

Often I struggle with audiobooks - I find myself tuning out pretty easily - but this had me hooked right from the start and I zoomed through it in less than two days. I loved the format of the chapters, and the voice of the main character seemed so real and relatable. Definitely going to hunt out more Patrick Ness asap

RealLifeReading Has a similar problem w audiobooks too until I discovered that I do pay attention when it's nonfiction and narrated by well, someone interesting like Aziz Ansari or Amy Poehler 8y

"Feelings don't try to kill you, even the painful ones. Anxiety is a feeling grown too large. A feeling grown aggressive and dangerous. You're responsible for it's consequences, you're responsible for treating it. But Michael, you're not responsible for causing it. You're not morally at fault for it. No more than you would be for a tumour."
