The Road makes you think about things from a different prospective. Looking back at the story I enjoyed it, but I also hate reading it. No quotations, fragmented sentences, no names, no character development or climax. It just exists. If you like world building and answers, this is not the book for you.

It has an interesting enough story line and the ending has me intrigued by what will happen next. That said, the characters are so-so; very stereotypical characterization that had me rolling my eyes by the end. The plot twists were too erratic and the characters overdone. I enjoy the idea, the the application is a little shoddy, it felt like she was trying too hard to check all of the boxes for contemporary fantasy lit for young adult
