I enjoyed this book. An interesting meta-take on the Star Trek genre. Still, it was less compelling than I had hoped. If you like Sci-fi books and Sci-fi television, read it.

I really enjoyed this book. I had seen the movie ("Carol"), which I liked, but the book is of course much deeper. Although it's from the 1950s, it holds up well.
A quick but enjoyable read. The characters are crisply and consistently portrayed in the vignettes. Recommended.
I can't say enough positive things about this book. As a scientific computing specialist, the details really resonated with me. That the author is not a professional historian occasionally shows, but highly recommended nonetheless.
I read this sci-fi classic for the first time earlier this year and, regrettably, I found that it had not aged well. Ideas that apparently seemed prescient in the 80s felt cliched now. The base story itself is fine as action, and Molly is a fascinating character, but I can't recommend it on any grounds other than that it's an important sci-fi milestone that sci-fi fans should have read.

I really enjoyed this work of historical fiction--though more because of the history I learned than the writing, which felt like a first book for the author. The two divergent timelines didn't work for me at first but by the end I was no longer bothered by the switching. The story in the past (Depression era) was compelling. Recommended reading, esp. if you don't know what the title refers to.
This Cthulhu-meets-James-Bond story has a good premise and I enjoyed it, but it's an obvious first effort. Two shorter stories were welded together, and the seams show. I will give the next book a try, however. Lovecraft fans should give it a chance.
