I'm super excited to start reading The Buddha in the Attic; I'm really into Asian history in the fictional works context, so this is going to be a great book!
A curl up book during a snow storm, The Snow Child explores the roots of family and love.
A novel that I will never forget: two women brought together under the most extreme of circumstances must survive. Perfect in every way, these two women are brave, but flawed, strong yet weak. Their story is one of hope and triumph, war and sorrow.
Eilis's passive tone kept me very detached from her emotionally; I felt as though I was going through the motions as she passively led her life. The supporting characters often had more depth to them than she did and her indecisiveness was annoying.
A heartbreaking picture of Homefront life during WWII, The Nightingale explores how deep love can reach even in the midst of hardships.
One of my favorites, the blend of WWII history and coming-of-age is perfect. The writing style and the depth and simplicity of the narration make this novel a must read for anyone. The themes are well thought out and the characters have so much life.
It's hard not to fall in love with this classic romance; Austen's prose are full of wit and her characters are great! Amusing and genuine, Lizzy and Mr Darcy are my most beloved literary couple!
Me Before You is probably one of the best novels I have read; it explores some really deep topics in a no-nonsense way, but delivers emotional appeal for all readers. The character development and arcs are astounding; sad, but wonderful.
