Been looking forward to this.

My past two days, basically.

This book broke me down & built me back up Only a select few books each year are classics. This was surely one of 2015. Get it, read it, share it ... & keep talking about it.

I indulge in one expensive art book a year. This was last year's choice, and I still don't have buyer's regret.

Funny & experimental, Fran Ross' only book was flatly ignored when it was published in the 70s. Bless New Directions for re-issuing. This is the one of favorite books some of your favorite writers.

Lovers of Mary Ruefle's extraordinary MADNESS, RACK & HONEY have a new companion! Wright's final work before her very untimely death is also one of her best.

If there is a better book this year, I will be stunned. (Though, bring it on!)

The first two pages are as stunning and raw as anything I've read recently. I like this emergence of writing on the potential and pitfalls -- for art & life -- of the human body.

I began reading this after dinner, and couldn't stop until breakfast the next morning. I would travel with C.D. Wright anywhere.
