In ”The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms” gods are weapons enslaved by powerful, wealthy humans (mostly by one extremely powerful family). This is a brilliant work of fantasy, but is this idea really so far out there? In our world‘s history there have been powerful men who put “god” at the center of man‘s bidding to control other men, certainly to control women and even entire nations. One takeaway for me from this book: God as weapon.
