It wrecked me. I am ruined.
I read this a while ago & I loved it. Its kinda similar to throne of glass but obviously nothing can replace ToG's place in my heart. Its about an assassin in the Ottoman empire. And if you guys haven't noticed already I have a thing for assassins 🗡 & I love history & I knew all about the Ottoman empire so I kinda knew everything that was going on. Also can we take a moment to appreciate that cover? Makes me want to paint it.
The details, events, surroundings, emotions&feelings just makes you feel like you witnessed world war II. &its scary;even if the characters are a work of fiction similar events happened to people, some had it worse&thats horrifying.I didnt know about the Wilhelm Gustloff,&it makes me wonder about the 9000+ people who drowned.Makes me wonder how people sleep knowing they've killed thousands of innocents&robbed them of their most prized possession;life.
There are many books that I read & broke my heart, but idk why I chose the assassins blade. I felt connected to Celaena on a million different levels & thats probably why I got my heart broken. A lot of tears were shed whilst reading this book. And a single heart was shattered to a million pieces, Sarah J Maas, I hope you understand the damage and pain you brought to your readers one day.
"The beautiful thing about books was that anyone could open them."
